Michael Edler, Certified Mixologist

Influenced by the mixology of industry legends such as Sasha Petraske, Danny Meyer, and Dale DeGroff, Distil mixologist Michael Edler has crafted a successful career in cocktails that spans more than a decade. His creations have received national acclaim – for himself and Milwaukee’s Hi-Hat Lounge – from publications like The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, InStyle, Maxim, Men’s Health, and Playboy. But his successes have burgeoned beyond U.S. borders. Edler was selected to represent the Midwest for the United States in the World Vodka Cup in Finland, where he finished 3rd and earned the highest single score in the long drink competition. Chosen to go to France by Robert Kacher Selections, Edler trained with master sommelier Bobby Kacher and other wine makers throughout the country. With more than 12 years experience honing his technique, studying classic cocktails, and creating his own tinctures, bitters, and syrups, Michael Edler’s career seems practically tailor made for Distil, and we’re proud to have as an integral part of our team. We’re also proud of the charity work he’s done for organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Project RED, and charity: water.
